The Carson Mansion
Models take time, especially when based on just photographs. This model was done from a number of photographs but was missing what the backside looked like. I had to use aerial views from Mapquest along with postings by sightseers to figure out what was going on in the rear of this house.
The next problem is that you have to proportion everything by trial and error, how big is this item against the other connecting shape. Does the round torrent cut through the roofline correctly.
I've mentioned before that I often take on a project to push myself to either learn something new or just as a challenge. In the case of this well know Victorian, it was all the small pieces that challenged me to continue. In the end you forget what it took to do and just sit back and admire the results.
